An exceptional flood event affected the Northern Rivers region in NSW between the end of February and the beginning of March 2022. Whilst the area is no stranger to flooding this flood was a never seen before event regarding flood heights.
Our hotel along with almost every residence in Woodburn was inundated with water up to their second story. Following the flood, we received a wave of assistance from volunteers who travelled from near and far to help us clean and get the hotel up and running again. We take this opportunity to thank all these unnamed volunteers who did their bit in our time of need and remain forever indebted to them.
